Q: What should we wear for our photography session?
A: As a general rule of thumb, wear clothing that you feel comfortable in. Clothes that are solid or have a small print look best because they keep the focus of the image on you and your family's faces. If your baby is going to wear a dress, make sure that there is a coordinating diaper cover on as well.
Q: How clean does my house have to be??!
A: Only a little tiny bit! Seriously though, I figure that real humans live in your home so I don't expect everything to be spotless. We'll photograph around your home wherever we can find good light. If you have a newborn session, its pretty safe to say that we'll spend most of the session in that room or your bedroom.
Q: Where should we go if I want an session outdoors?
A: I get it, sometimes the thought of doing photos in your home is intimidating. Or, perhaps you want to switch things up a bit and do something different. The great thing about living in sunny Los Angeles is the abundance of great outdoor locations. Together we'll review a list of my favorite spots around L.A. to pick a destination that's right for you.
Q: Do you shoot film?
A: All of my client work is done in digital and edited to replicate film. If the grain on the images bothers you, please let me know before your session.
Q: When is the best time to take maternity photos?
A: The ideal time to schedule your maternity session is when you are between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. This is a great time that really shows off the bump and you'll still feel comfortable.
Q: When is the best time to do newborn photos?
A: The best time to get those tiny itty bitty newborn photos is within the first 2 weeks of life. If your baby is older than 2 weeks, please contact me right away and we'll try to get something scheduled as soon as possible.
Q: When do people research for newborn photographers?
A: Ideally, you'd want to include a photographer as something to research and decide on during the same time that you're creating registries and putting the nursery together.
